Abs are Made in the Kitchen

I hear people say, “How do I lose weight?” “Asia, I want to bulk, help!” “What exercises will make me skinner?” I’m here to remind you that all these goals are attainable and reachable with good physical activity AND correct nutrition. Proper nutrition is key to seeing any results. In addition, fueling your body with whole and natural foods will reduce the risk of some diseases, cancers, and osteoporosis. A well balanced nutritional diet improves your well-being, ability to fight off illness, ability to recover faster, and boosts your energy level.

I used to work abs 5x a week, limit my eating or not eat at all to reprimand myself for an unhealthy splurge, and not pay attention to the foods that caused me to bloat, rather just the calories I was consuming. Trial and error and a lot of research has shown me that my diet cannot consist of dairy, gluten, or alcohol and living a pescatarian lifestyle is suitable and sustainable for my health needs. Yes, I train hard, however, my main focus in this chapter of my health journey is nutrition, not ab training.

If you are struggling with your current nutrition plan, I suggest “keeping it simple!” Start your day with water and unprocessed foods, swap a piece of fruit for your midday cookie, try to add more protein to your meals to stay full longer, and track your foods to stay accountable to your health goals.
